Compassion for Africa is a partnership of people, in the US and Africa, who have joined hearts and hands on behalf of abandoned children of East Africa who reside in select group homes. We hope to see each of these children mature into fervent Christ followers, leaders with servant’s hearts and a passion to help the people of their nation.
About
Birthing A New Future For Abandoned Children In East Africa
Equipping And Encouraging The Children And Their Care-Givers
Our initial focus is to ensure that each child has the basic provisions of life: food, clothing, shelter, basic medical care and an elementary (K-8) education. Each child lives in a group home under the direction of a trusted pastor who has a proven history of caring for abandoned children. The provision of these basic necessities by the pastors and their congregation alone has proven to be beyond their ability. Therefore Compassion for Africa partners with the pastors by raising monthly support.
Beyond the basics, we also raise funds for improvements in the living conditions within the group homes and provision for each child’s higher education. In East Africa, high school is done in boarding schools of which approximately a third of the population attends. To birth a new future, we must provide the opportunities for our children to excel in ways they could only dream of while living in abandonment.
