Stephanie: Following the death of their father, Stephanie a five-year-old and her 10-year-old sister, were abandoned by their mother and left with their mentally unstable grandmother. They live in a single room in Mukuru slum and often go days without food because of the instability of this grandmother. Neighbors often found the grandmother wondering the streets and was then taken to a mental hospital. The children were given small amounts of food by the well-wishers in the community but stayed alone uncared for. Their deplorable situation was brought to the attention of Reverand Mary Mambo by a pastor at Deliverance Church Sinai. Stephanie was then rescued and brought to live at the Cana Rescue Centre. Compassion for Africa has found a loving sponsor who will support her every need and begin her education. Authorities are investigating the possibility of rescuing her sister as well.
